She told Wonderland Magazine: ‘It was intimidating to step into something that people are so connected to, love so much, and have a lot of opinions about.
‘I definitely did get some negativity around race, but at the end of the day, I’m employed – and I’m following my dreams.’
According to fan website Winter is Coming, the character Tanselle is described in author George R. R. Martin’s novella Tales of Dunk & Egg as as having black hair and olive skin.
Martin also gave Tanzyn his stamp of approval, as she revealed he told her: ‘You’re exactly what I pictured [for Tanselle].’
It comes as viewers praised A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms as the ‘best series of the year‘ after being wowed by the ‘masterpiece’ finale.
Fans were left very impressed and moved by the poignant ending – with the six-parter concluding with ‘The Morrow’.
One wrote on X: ‘The last episode of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms was a masterpiece.
‘I haven’t felt such strong emotion from a TV show since the Better Call Saul finale. Congrats to everyone involved.’
Another described the programme as the ‘best series of the year’.

The final episode highlighted the aftermath of the Trial of Seven battle.
Furthermore, the late Baelor’s brother, Prince Maekar “The Anvil” Targaryen (Sam Spruell), offers Dunk to remain at Summerhall and train Egg.
Dunk declines and later suggests Maekar allow Egg to accompany him as a hedge knight as he embarks on his travels.
But Maekar refuses this, so Dunk leaves to start his next journey — only for Egg to tag along anyway, claiming to Dunk that his father allowed him to go
It comes as the show’s stars dropped a ‘massive spoiler’ about future events while taking part in an interview.
Elsewhere, stars Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell seemingly dropped a huge spoiler while sat for an interview with Decider
Actors Peter, 29, and Dexter, 11, featured in an interview on the Decider YouTube channel.
The host asked the pair about their characters’ futures – and whether they are familiar with the word ‘Summerhall.’
Dexter replied: ‘Yes, we have. I don’t know about Peter, but I do know a bit about when Egg is trying to make dragons in the summer hall, and then there is a huge fire.’
To which Peter interjected: ‘We don’t know if that’s exactly what happens.’
However, Dexter added: ‘But we do know that Dunk survives’, as his co-star made a ‘cut’ gesture to the camera.
Peter continued: ‘‘We don’t know if that exactly happens, let’s just get this season one out of the way.’
Reacting to the clip online, one viewer wrote: ‘This is genuinely the biggest lore drop we’ve had in years lmao.’
Another commented: ‘Dexter just casually spoiling the future seasons of the story.’
