AN ACTOR who is best known as the voice of Spider Man in Latin America has died at the age of 38.

Alexis Ortega’s voice was tied to a generation of blockbuster films for 660 million people across the region.

He became famous for dubbing Peter Parker in Spider Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

His performances in Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War made him a beloved figure for generations of fans who grew up listening to his voice.

His death was first announced on an Instagram page dedicated to dubbing news.

A statement said: “We regret to announce the passing of voice actor Alexis Ortega.

“We send our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.”

Ortega’s cause of death has not been disclosed yet, TMZ has reported.

His last post on Instagram was from November 2025 and showed the actor snuggled in with his dog on the sofa in his home in Mexico City.

“My doggo,” the caption read.

Just weeks before he had become an uncle after his sister-in-law gave birth to a beautiful girl.

His career in show business took off back in 2013 in both on-camera roles and voice overs, El Mundo America reported.

Among the onscreen roles Ortega appeared included Luis Miguel: The Series, Thursday’s Widows, El Candidato and The House of Flowers.

And in recent years, Ortega also ventured into the world of social media, working on dubbing projects linked to channels like MrBeast in their Spanish version.

Fans shared videos of Spider Man toys on social media to pay tribute to the actor.

“My favorite voice for Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man, no doubt,” one post read. “I have a fondness for the figure they released that comes with his voice.”

Another described Ortega as “one of the best Latin American voices in movies and series,” adding: “Thank you for everything, Alexis Ortega.

“As one of the characters you portrayed once said, it’s ‘all for now, I’m satisfied with your care.’

“Strength to his family, and damn, it’s truly sad to lose someone like that.”

Another shocked fan wrote: “Rest in peace Alexis and may his family be well, he will always be remembered for his great work in dubbing, a hero and inspiration in every project he worked on.”
