EXCLUSIVE: Chaske Spencer (The Twilight SagaEcho) has joined the recurring cast of AMC‘s hit Dark Winds for Season 4.

Production on Season 4, which will consist of eight hourlong episodes, will kick off this month in Santa Fe, NM, with a premiere set for 2026.

Spencer will portray Sonny, a recruiter for a Los Angeles crime ring. Charismatic and lethal, he uses his charm and menace to lure young Native American men recently relocated to the city from their reservations into a life of crime.

Set in 1971 on a remote outpost of the Navajo Nation near Monument Valley, Dark Winds follows Lt. Joe Leaphorn (Zahn McClarnon) of the Tribal Police as he is besieged by a series of seemingly unrelated crimes. The closer he digs into the truth, the more he exposes the wounds of his past. He is joined on this journey by his new deputy, Jim Chee (Kiowa Gordon). Chee also has old scores to settle from his youth on the reservation. Together, the two men battle the forces of evil, each other and their own personal demons on the path to salvation.

Season 3 picks up six months after the events of Season 2 and follows Leaphorn and Chee as they investigate the disappearance of two boys, with only an abandoned bicycle and blood-stained patch of ground left in their wake. Meanwhile, Bernadette Manuelito (Jessica Matten) attempts to settle into her new life 500 miles from home with the Border Patrol but stumbles across a conspiracy involving human and drug smuggling with far-reaching implications.

The series was renewed for a fourth season ahead of its Season 3 premiere. New episodes currently air on Sunday nights at 9 p.m.

Spencer’s recent credits include Teacup from Peacock, Marvel/Disney+’s Echo and The English for Amazon/BBC, for which he was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Leading Actor. He also stars in the upcoming feature film Park Avenue opposite Fiona Shaw, which premiered at the Santa Barbara Film Festival last month. He next will be seen in Wind River: Rising from Castle Rock. He is repped by ATA Management, CESD Talent Agency and Peikoff Mahan.
