Chilling audio released after ‘cheating’ dad of six shoots dead wife and kids, aged 5 to 15, before setting home on fire
CHILLING dispatch audio has revealed the smoke-filled horror awaiting firefighters after a dad allegedly gunned down his wife and six children before torching their home.
The recording described the house as “full of smoke,” with fumes pouring through its windows as emergency crews raced back to the property.

The family was found inside their home on Riverside Trail in Grand Haven Township, Michigan, shortly before noon on Friday, July 24.
Kristopher Karolkiewicz, 47, is accused of shooting dead his wife Amanda “Mandy” Karolkiewicz, 39, and all six of their children before killing himself.
Firefighters had first been called to the area between 8.30 am and 9 am after people reported smelling smoke.
Crews searched for the source but were unable to find a fire at that time.
They returned just before 11.45 am after another caller reported white smoke coming from the house.
The newly released dispatch traffic captured responders being warned that the property was filled with smoke visible through the windows, Fox News reported.
Inside, emergency workers discovered the bodies of two adults and six children in different parts of the home.
Autopsies later found that all eight had suffered gunshot wounds.
Investigators ruled Mandy’s death and those of the children homicides, while Kristopher’s death was determined to be a suicide.
“The investigation at this point shows that this is a murder-suicide, with the fire being started after the murders,” Ottawa County Sheriff’s Capt. Jake Sparks said.
The children were four boys aged 15, 12, 11 and five, and two 11-year-old girls.
Authorities have not publicly released their names.
Investigators believe Kristopher deliberately started fires in several areas of the house after carrying out the shootings.
“The cause and origin of the residential fire remains under investigation by Michigan State Police arson investigators,” the sheriff’s office said.
“However, preliminary indications are that the fire was intentionally set in numerous places throughout the interior of the residence.”
The family’s pets also died from the fire and smoke.
Police said they are not searching for any other suspects.
The horror unfolded just days after Mandy returned from what she described as a dream trip to China with her two adopted daughters.
Pictures showed the mom and girls wearing traditional Chinese hanfu and holding decorative fans against a floral backdrop.
Mandy called the dress-up experience one of the “funniest and coolest” moments of her life.
Her final TikTok post on July 17 showed the family preparing to return to Michigan.
“We are so ready to be home sweet home!” she wrote.
Her social media was filled with apparently happy family moments, including trips to Shanghai Disney, days at the pool and pictures with her husband and children.
But posts from a Reddit account attributed to Mandy painted a far more troubled picture of her marriage.
In one 2024 message, she allegedly claimed Kristopher had cheated with a younger intern years after their own relationship began while she was an intern.
“He was divorced and older than me … fast forward ten years and five kids, he was cheating with the intern again, the same age I was when I was the intern,” she allegedly wrote.
Mandy also described blaming herself and struggling emotionally after discovering the alleged affair.
“After about a year of self-loathing I remember crying and looking at myself in the mirror and realizing how f—ed up it was that I was the one who was living so miserably because of what he did,” she allegedly wrote.
She frequently posted in a Reddit group for couples attempting to rebuild their relationships after infidelity.
“We have six kids, so the idea of leaving is insanely terrifying,” Mandy allegedly wrote.
“He’s always had major red flags that I ignored due to my own trauma and anxious attachment.”
She also wrote that the couple had entered marriage counseling but that she feared they would never make progress.
Local 4 independently linked the Reddit username to Mandy, although her relatives said she had kept the details of her marriage private from them.
The couple met while working at a beverage company in 2008 and married in August 2009.
They went on to have four biological sons and adopt two daughters.
Kristopher had also recently lost his job before the deaths.
The American Heart Association confirmed that he worked for the organization from September 2023 until his employment ended earlier in July.
He had served as a national vice president of sales and marketing for its CPR and first-aid training division.
The organization said it was “devastated” by the tragedy and offered condolences to those who loved the family.
Mandy worked as a substitute teacher at Peach Plains Elementary School, where officials said she treated pupils with “empathy, patience, and care.”
Her cousin Emily Stoye Jones said relatives were desperate to understand what led to the killings.
“Everybody wants to know why,” she told Local 4.
“It’s unfathomable, and we need to know why. We still want to know. Make it make sense just a little bit, because it doesn’t make sense.”
Jones said Mandy had devoted herself to creating memories and individual relationships with each of her children.
“Mandy’s lot in life was to be a mom,” she said.
“Mandy’s family and the children’s loved ones have been left preparing seven funerals as investigators continue searching for a motive.
Sheriff Eric DeBoer called the killings “an unspeakable tragedy that we may never fully understand.”
