Drug driver LAUGHS before he’s jailed for killing his brother and nephew, 12, in horror crash while high on cocaine

A DRUG driver who killed his brother and 12-year-old nephew in a horror crash laughed before he was jailed today.
Michael Webb lost control of his Skoda Octavia while attempting to undertake a BMW at almost double the speed limit.
The 35-year-old smashed into a tree – ripping the car in two and killing brother Peter Webb, 40, and nephew Ben instantly.
Webb was pictured laughing on his way into Newcastle Crown Court today where he was jailed for 13-and-a-half years.
He previously pleaded guilty to two counts of causing death by dangerous driving.
Ashleigh Webb, Peter’s wife and Ben’s mum, said “no sentence will ever be long enough” in a tearful statement.
She also told how her brother-in-law’s driving had always been “an accident waiting to happen”.
The mum added: “Ben’s school blazer was hanging at the bottom of the stairs ready to start year 8 after the weekend. He never made it into the blazer of year 8.
“They were picked up by a man calling himself a brother and uncle who willingly and purposefully put their lives in danger.
“He drove so dangerously and without consideration for anyone. He took my little boy away.”
Addressing Webb directly she continued: “You were the adult and it was your responsibility to protect him.
“I will never get the answers I search for. Was my little boy scared? Did he shout for me? Was Peter shouting for him to slow down?
“I am yet to receive an apology from Michael. He has instead, at every opportunity tried to protect himself.
“There has been images of him smoking cannabis and drinking while on bail. It’s bad enough him doing this but to allow it to be put where I can see shows a complete lack of remorse.”
Webb was twice the legal limit for cocaine when he got behind the wheel on August 30 last year.
He was also four times over the limit for benzoylecgonine, a breakdown product of the drug.
The court heard the road conditions were wet as Webb sped through South Shields, South Tyneside.
He was giving Peter and Ben a life home from the pub when he lost control and left the road.
Both Peter and Ben were killed instantly, while Webb suffered serious injuries including a laceration to his head, a fractured wrist and rib fractures.
As well as a jail term, Webb was banned from driving for 15 years and five months.
