The next episode of NCIS: Origins arrives tonight on CBS, but Collider is here to make sure fans don’t have to wait quite as long as planned. We’re thrilled to partner with the network and Paramount to exclusively preview a new sneak peek at NCIS: Origins Season 2, Episode 7, titled “The Edge.” In the new sneak peek, which can be found below, a liaison from DC Headquarters with a mysterious connection to Gibbs arrives at Camp Pendleton with a special mission. The new episode will air on CBS tonight at 9 PM EST and begin streaming on Paramount+ tomorrow for all premium subscribers.

NCIS fans have already seen Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Austin Stowell) go on quite the adventure during the first two episodes of Season 2. In the first episode, which aired on October 14, Gibbs and Franks (Kyle Schmid) investigate the disappearance of a young Marine connected to a mysterious compound with a charismatic leader. Fans also learned that Lala survived the crash at the end of the Season 1 finale, and she is back on the team. Episode 2 follows the team as they investigate a body washed up on the beach and have to decide if it was an accident or a murder.

While there was certainly some skepticism surrounding NCIS: Origins when it was first announced, it’s fair to say the show has become a massive hit since its premiere last year. Stowell has proved himself to be a perfect young Gibbs, and the show has assembled an impressive ensemble cast through two strong seasons. Things are just beginning for what fans hope will be a long journey for Gibbs at the start of his career.

Paramount and CBS have yet to decide the fate of NCIS: Origins and announce whether there will be a third season or if the show will be canceled. However, it would certainly be a surprise if the network cut things off after such a short run, especially considering NCIS is something of a flagship property for CBS. The first two episodes of Season 2 prove that the show has found its stride and leaned into its prequel identity. Fans are loving NCIS: Origins Season 2 so far, and it would be a crushing blow to see it end so soon.
