Mystery remains around Jordan Wrightâs tragic death after Towie star, 33, found lifeless in Thai drainage ditch
MYSTERY remains around Jordan Wrightâs death one month after the Towie starâs body was found in a Thai ditch.
The 33-year-old from Basildon, Essex, was found face down in a drainage canal on the island of Phuket on March 14.
An inquest into Wrightâs death opened today at Chelmsford Coronerâs Court
But his cause of death is yet to be made public with vital information still expected from a toxicology report from Thailand.
The case was adjourned until September 14.
Now his family must endure further excruciating months without answers as questions still swirl around his death and key details remain a mystery.
Cops also confirmed a search of his hotel room showed no signs of forced entry or anything suspicious.
Chilling CCTV footage appeared to show Wright pacing erratically outside a hotel shortly before his death.
In the grainy night-time video, Wright suddenly grabs onto a parked white pickup truck to steady himself as he stumbles around a corner.
He appears disoriented, almost panicked, before pushing on.
CCTV then shows him pacing back and forth before suddenly bolting out of the complex again and vanishing into the darkness beyond the hotel perimeter.
Wright is believed to have sprinted across rough, uneven fields surrounding the hotel before leaping down a 10ft creek, splashing through a shallow stream and scrambling towards a nearby construction site.
Separate footage, obtained by The Sun, captured the ITV personality getting into a furious row with a mystery stranger while standing at the ditch just 12 minutes later.
In the CCTV clip, a family of three staying at a neighbouring hotel can be seen walking down a path as Wright is heard yelling angrily.
Police said he had been staying alone at Hotel COCO Phuket Bangtao and was due to check out the day before he was found.
Police believe he was arguing over the phone.
It has not been confirmed what exactly Wright was shouting, but at points he appears to say: âBefore they come back, letâs get them back in the head and have a f**king shootout.â
Police Lieutenant Colonel Chanasin Prateep Na Thalang said that a âforeign family of three staying at The Title Hotelâ saw Wright walking alone.
They said he was by the âdrainage canal, shouting loudly as if he was in a frenzied stateâ.
The family then âheard the sound of someone wading in the waterâ, Thalang said.
He added: âThen at around midnight, the noise went quiet.â
Officers investigating the case say Wright is believed to have drowned in the stagnant water, but that his exact time of death is not known.
As well as probing his apparent phonecall, cops are also investigating anyone who the former reality star had met earlier in the evening.
Immigration paperwork shows Wright arrived in Thailand on December 3, 2025, on a Digital Nomad visa, often used by backpackers for moving across Asia.
Before finding fame, Jordan had worked as a firefighter.
He later admitted he felt âhugely unfulfilledâ by TV life and eventually returned to the job.
He rose to fame on Ex On The Beach in 2017 before joining The Only Way Is Essex in 2018.
Jordan also dated reality star Vicky Pattison and was known for his explosive storyline with Courtney Green and Myles Barnett.
Tributes poured in for the late star following his sudden death.
Fellow Towie star Chloe Brockett wrote: âRest in peace Jordanâ and heart emoji.
Another wrote: âOh Jord, gone way too soon. Rest in peace darling.â
A third said: âOh Jord! This is heartbreaking to hear. Youâll be truly missed.â
