New official portrait, same royal love story. The Prince and Princess of Wales took to their official Instagram account to post a new photo taken from the State Visit by the Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu. Not only did Will and Kate display their royal garb, they also showed off some subtle PDA.

In the snap, taken by photographer Christianah Ebenezer, Kate Middleton and Prince William flash big smiles as they sweetly wrap their arms around each other. “A special portrait taken ahead of yesterday evening’s Nigeria State Banquet 🇳🇬🇬🇧,” they wrote in the caption.

Nodding to the Nigerian flag, Kate looked beautiful in a forest green Andrew Gn gown that featured a high neck, long balloon sleeves, cinched waist, and flowy floor-grazing skirt. She paired the dress, which hails from the Singaporean brand’s autumn/winter 2021 collection, with sapphire-and-diamond fringe earrings that belonged to Queen Elizabeth; Princess Diana’s favorite tiara, the Queen Mary Lover’s Knot; and a Jenny Packham clutch.

Kate also had a surprise up her sleeve—or rather peeking out from under her skirt: Carrie Bradshaw’s favorite shoes, a.k.a. Manolo Blahniks. The royal’s pair were green Hangisi pumps with silver embellishments. To finish everything off, Kate wore glowy makeup and styled her long brunette hair in bouncy curls.

Meanwhile, William wore a black suit with red accents and gold buttons. His lapel was decorated in medals.

Kate and William show PDA more frequently than they have in prior years, likely a result of both a relaxed royal protocol and an increased closeness following Kate’s cancer diagnosis.

As royal biographer Ingrid Seward told People in March 2025, “[Kate and William] are happy for people to see them be touchy-feely. They’re in a different phase of their life now. William is very protective and very proud of her for coming through this and carrying on with her life.”
