Details of the third season of The Marlow Murder Club have been unveiled, including new cast members and plot information.

The popular drama is set to return to our screens next year, with filming having recently wrapped up. The upcoming series will feature three captivating new murder mysteries, spread across six episodes.

A host of guest stars are set to make an appearance, including Peter Davison, known for his role as Arnold Finch in BBC’s Death in Paradise. He will be portraying Geoffrey in the first two episodes.

Joining him will be EastEnders’ Nigel Harman as Marcus, Carnival Row’s Jacqueline Boatswain as Debbie, Art Detectives’ Sarah Alexander as Sophia, The Larkins’ Tony Gardner as Terrence, and Waterloo Road’s Jason Merrells as Paul.

These guest stars will join the main cast of The Marlow Murder Club, which includes Samantha Bond as Judith Potts, Jo Martin as Suzie Harris, Cara Horgan as Becks Starling, and Natalie Dew as DI Tanika Malik, reports the Express.

Episodes three and four will welcome comedy legend Harry Enfield, known for his role in Miss Marple – The Moving Finger, who will portray Hector.

The final two episodes will feature more renowned guest stars, including Strike’s Cherie Lunghi, Joy’s Adrian Lukis, and The Crown’s Alastair Mackenzie, who will play Marian, Matthew, and Ferdy, respectively.

Meanwhile, Hugh Quarshie will return as Professor Darius Gifford, alongside Phill Langhorne reprising DC Brendan Perry, Holli Dempsey back as DC Alice Hackett and Tijan Sarr returning as DC Jason Kennedy.

The complete synopsis for the third series of The Marlow Murder Club states: “Now an established part of newly promoted DI Tanika Malik’s crime solving gang, retired archaeologist Judith Potts, dog walker Suzie Harris, and vicar’s wife Becks Starling are back and bringing their unconventional methods to a string of high-profile murders.

“From the sudden death of the town’s beloved mayor – the nicest man in Marlow – to a celebrity chef found dead at the launch of his cookbook with half the town in attendance, the team will be working under the watchful eye of the Marlow community.

“They’ll also be called to action at a university reunion in an eerie manor house where in a surprising twist, Becks finds herself amongst the suspects. Could this case threaten our amateur sleuths’ roles as civilian advisors?”

Daniel Rusteau and Robert Thorogood collaborated on episodes one and two of the fresh series, whilst Amy Reith crafted episodes three and four, with Julia Gilbert handling episodes five and six. The series draws inspiration from the novel Queen of Poisons, authored by Robert.

The third series of The Marlow Murder Club will consist of six one-hour episodes. This series is a joint venture with co-producer and US broadcaster MASTERPIECE, and is produced by Monumental Television in collaboration with ITV Studios.
