Brazen Sarah Ferguson held talks to CLONE late Queen’s beloved corgis for ‘bizarre’ TV show ‘to make money’
SARAH Ferguson held talks to clone the late Queen’s beloved corgis for a bizarre TV show, The Sun on Sunday can reveal.
The brazen former duchess discussed the idea with Hollywood executives, hoping to “make money”.
The Queen had two corgis when she died in September 2022 and the pair, Muick and Sandy, went to live with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and his ex-wife.
Just months later, Fergie considered cloning the dogs for a fly-on-the-wall reality series with LA-based Halcyon Studios.
In a write-up of the idea, TV producers said the show would see Sarah embark on a “bold and controversial business venture” that would navigate “the complex world of genetics and royal protocol”.
It continued: “Fergie finds herself like so many other people facing a dramatic change in economic outlook later in life — needing to make money.”
A TV source said: “It was very bizarre.
“One idea under discussion was that camera crews would follow Sarah on a journey to clone the dogs with a team of scientists and investors, with a view to selling them to dog lovers around the world.
“There were meetings in LA over lunch and dinner.
“TV executives initially considered the ideas out of amusement and there were a few follow-up Zoom meetings. But discussions soon fizzled out.”
A memo set out how Fergie would create a company called The Queen’s Corgis to clone the animals and sell them — all while managing her “strained relationship” with the Royal Family.
Last night, Royal author Richard Fitzwilliams said: “To consider cloning the Queen’s beloved dogs for financial gain is unbelievably grotesque and utterly bizarre.
“The Queen saw in Sarah a woman who loved horses and dogs — a country woman like herself. It’s why Sarah and Andrew were trusted with her corgis.
“But for Sarah, everything is a commodity to be monetised.
“While it might be too much to expect Sarah Ferguson to be able to even spell sensitivity, you wouldn’t have expected her to sink this low. It’s revolting.
“Unfortunately, it’s mad enough to be believable.”
Muick and Sandy were led out to watch the Queen’s funeral procession.
They were her last two Pembroke Welsh corgis — gifted to her by Andrew to keep her company in lockdown following Prince Philip’s death in 2021.
In 2023 Fergie told ITV’s Loose Women that she had been so concerned for the animals that she went to a dog whisperer.
She added: “I said, ‘Now tell me about grief’. And he said, ‘Just at night just make sure they have their own space.’
“Yeah, so I do. Because I think they were grieving – their little tails went down. And I wanted to make them have waggy tails.”
The Queen’s two corgis — along with dorgi Candy, a corgi/ dachshund cross, and cocker spaniel Lissy — have remained with Andrew even after he was evicted in disgrace from Windsor’s Royal Lodge.
Last month, the dogs were spotted being walked on the Sandringham estate where he lives in exile over his links to paedo financier Jeffrey Epstein.
Andrew, who was stripped of his titles by brother King Charles, has since been questioned by police but denies any wrongdoing.
Fergie’s whereabouts are unknown but she is believed to have fled the UK.
She is now facing increasing pressure to give evidence in the US over her own links to Epstein.
Yet Fergie, 66, is said to be desperate to salvage her reputation — and has even been tipped to appear on the US version of The Traitors.
Her money troubles have repeatedly made headlines.
In 2010 she was caught in a newspaper sting offering access to Andrew for £500,000. She later apologised, blaming “serious financial difficulties”.
A charity she founded in New York was placed on a list of “delinquent organisations” after failing to file tax returns, while a lavish fundraising gala she organised in Manhattan collapsed when promised celebrity guests failed to appear.
She has also faced scrutiny over personal debts, including sums owed to staff.
In an email exchange in documents connected to Epstein’s New York mansion, a former assistant complained he was owed nearly $60,000 in wages despite months of discussions.
Other emails showed the former Duchess repeatedly asking Epstein for help.In 2009 she wrote: “I urgently need £20,000 for rent today. The landlord has threatened to go to newspapers if I don’t pay.”
Halcyon Studios was liquidated in 2024 and could not be contacted for comment. Fergie’s representatives did not respond.
