‘Bones’ Star Tamara Taylor Shocks Emily Deschanel When She Reveals Cam’s Original Fate

She explains the conversation that went on behind the scenes. “’So, you’re doing so well,’ and I said ‘thank you’ ‘and you’re doing so well the fans are loving you’ which was like ‘thank you’ ‘we’re gonna have to kill you‘,” says Taylor. Deschanel and Gallo both gasp. Taylor explains that she was actually well-liked by both the studio and by fans in her role as Head of the Forensics Division at the Jeffersonian, but there was something built into her gig on Bones that allowed for a caveat to kill her off if the studio felt it necessary. Cam butted heads with Deschanel’s Dr. Temperance Brennan; she was a sharp-witted foil that was fun to watch while she herded the cats that were the employees of the Jeffersonian. Taylor goes on to reveal that it was the episode where she was poisoned was supposed to eventually lead to her death. The episode was “The Man in the Cell” where Cam is poisoned by a neurotoxin called Methyl Bromide. She was exposed to it by serial killer Howard Epps (Heath Freeman.)
The Cast of ‘Bones’ Are Ready for a Reboot

“That’s definitely a show that I feel is an easier thing to revisit, if I did, and something that would be fun if it’s a small little hit run, or something. That’s something I would never decline to take on because it would be fun to see where Booth is and where Temperance Brennan is, and those other characters, especially their relationship and how it’s evolved over the years. How is their daughter? What is Booth doing? What is she doing? Is she exploring the caves in some remote area of the world? It would be funny. That type of show and how we shot that show is just so unique to the humor that you really could do anything with it.”
