West Texas is on fire — and this time it has nothing to do with oil rigs. The newly released trailer for Landman season 3 delivers a moment so volatile, so carefully loaded, fans are already calling it the most dangerous turning point the series has ever teased. It opens like a dream: a lavish wedding, flawless smiles, champagne flowing, everything polished to perfection. But underneath the ceremony, something lethal is quietly locking into place. Every glance carries intent. Every handshake feels calculated. At the center stands Tommy Norris, boxed in by ruthless new alliances and enemies who’ve clearly been waiting for the right second to strike. One wrong move — just one — and the Norris empire could implode before the vows are even finished. Secret deals simmer, confrontations hover just beneath the surface, and the final beat lands with a pulse-spiking jolt that makes it clear this isn’t a celebration at all. It’s a setup. And when the music cuts, survival won’t be guaranteed — politically, personally, or otherwise. The honeymoon ends before it begins. What comes next? No one is prepared…

Landman co-creator Christian Wallace has teased that the show is heading towards a “reset” in its third season, with Taylor Sheridan currently writing the script.

The recent finale of Landman’s second season saw Tommy (Billy Bob Thornton) set out to form his own family-run company after being fired from M-Tex Oil by Cami (Demi Moore), setting the stage for a very different story in the upcoming season. With many of the characters now separated or heading on different paths, Wallace confirms that the future of the show is currently uncertain.

An Update On Landman Season 3's Surprisingly Close Release Date

Will ‘Landman’ Season 3 Follow The Same Story?

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, the writer confessed that “there’s a great level of trust there that whatever Taylor [Sheridan] decides will be the right move. There are a lot of possibilities, but I’m not sure myself exactly how it’s going to play out. So, we’ll see.”

Whatever happens, the dynamics between Landman‘s central characters will certainly change. While most of the show’s main ensemble are confirmed to return, their subplots will undoubtedly be very different. “Now we have T.L., Tommy and Cooper all working at the same company, but not under the auspices of this larger corporation. It’s now family-run, very small, starting from almost scratch. That’s a whole new dynamic for them.”

Season two’s finale certainly felt like the nail in the coffin for some of Landman‘s most pressing questions, but Sheridan and Wallace have no plans for this story to end any time soon. “You can definitely expect that we’ll continue to see the range of dynamics that is embedded in this show,” Wallace promises.

When Is ‘Landman’ Season 3 Coming Out?

Landman Season 3 Trailer & Official Release Date REVEALED!

While no official release date has yet been announced, Wallace seems confident that season three of Landman will be ready by this time next year. “We’re in a groove. We are a little bit later than we were the last two seasons, but that only matters for us because of the heat in Texas.”

Given the demanding schedule of filming on-site in Texas during the summer months, this 12-month turnaround for Landman‘s next season is ambitious. The show has generally done an excellent job being consistent with short gaps between seasons, and there’s no indication this will be any different in the future. “I’m excited about the schedule, and I think the rhythm we’re in right now works really well,” Wallace admits.
