ERIN NAPIER CALLS ON LIBERTY MUTUAL TO HELP REBUILD HEIRLOOM HOTEL AFTER DEVASTATING FIRE
HGTV fans have rallied around Ben and Erin Napier following the heartbreaking fire that destroyed The Heirloom Hotel in Laurel, Mississippi, a landmark renovation featured on Home Town: Inn This Together. The blaze, which struck in August 2025, erased years of hard work by the Napier team and their close collaborators, including Mallorie and Jim Rasberry and Josh and Emily Nowell.
On May 31, Erin Napier shared a poignant plea to the hotel’s insurance company, highlighting a heartfelt handwritten letter from 11-year-old Amos Sledge. The young boy urged Liberty Mutual to approve the claim to allow the hotel to be rebuilt. “This is your chance to prove Liberty Mutual is different,” Amos wrote, emphasizing the impact the project has had on both Laurel and the nation. He added, “If you do the right thing, it will keep the light shining,” underlining the hotel’s symbolic value as a beacon of community and hope.

Erin posted the letter on social media, captioning it: “My dear friend, Mr. Amos Sledge, hopes @libertymutual hears his plea and does the right thing. So do I.” Her post drew an outpouring of support from fans, many of whom tagged the insurer in comments and expressed frustration over the prolonged claims process. “I cried tonight when I saw you and Mallorie watching… Liberty Mutual must do the right thing,” one viewer wrote, while another commented, “Wow, how awesome is this young man to be a beacon of light himself.”
To help preserve the hotel’s legacy, the team has also begun selling repurposed floorboards from the property as photo ledges. “It makes us feel encouraged as we look at these, that no matter how damaged—beautiful things can still come from the ashes,” the Heirloom Hotel team shared.
The Napier family’s dedication, combined with the support of fans and the heartfelt appeal from young Amos, underscores the resilience of the Laurel community.
