The idol-turned-actress shared the update herself through Instagram, thanking fans for their support and revealing that she will tie the knot on September 12, 2026.

Beyond love, we’ve chosen to become each other’s everything. On September 12, 2026, we will be getting married.

Alongside the message, Hwayoung posted a photo of herself smiling with her fiancé during what appeared to be a romantic date.

However, the reaction online has been far from positive. On X (formerly Twitter), many netizens left harsh comments.

Much of the backlash stems from Hwayoung’s controversial exit from T-ARA in 2012. At the time, bullying allegations involving the group went viral, leading to massive public criticism. While later reports and staff testimonies suggested the situation may have been misrepresented, the damage to T-ARA’s reputation had already been done.

More than a decade later, it seems the controversy still follows her.
