During his latest live broadcast, Mingyu was asked by a fan to mimick his group member DK‘s crying from a previous livestream, and the idol obliged happily. He humrously mimicked DK’s mannerisms, ending the bit with a dramatic “sorry.”

The moment in question that Mingyu was referring to was DK’s recent livestream where he said his goodbye to fans before his military enlistment on September 8, KST. While talking about enlistment, the idol teared up and kept apologizing, stirring up a serious discussion about the toll that mandatory military service can take on individuals.

Given the seriousness of the discourse around DK’s actions, many netizens are left wondering if Mingyu was mocking his own groupmate.

However, fans defended the idol, arguing that as DK’s real life friend, Mingyu’s dynamic with him was not the same as strangers on the internet.

Meanwhile, Mingyu also enlisted for his mandatory military service on September 10, KST, and will be serving under alternative services.
