The Chosen is giving fans a look at its penultimate season.

5&2 Studios unveiled a teaser trailer for the drama series’ sixth season, featuring a look at Jesus (played by Jonathan Roumie) in his final moments.

In the trailer, Jesus is escorted away during his final hours as The Chosen depicts his crucifixion. Per a synopsis, the new season follows “the historic events of Jesus’ final day through the lives of those who love Him — and those who condemn Him.”

“Pharisees call it justice. Romans call it peace. Followers call it murder. But in the face of loneliness and death, Jesus stands resolute in his plan that has always led to one place: the cross,” the description reads. “The Chosen season 6 reveals how Jesus’ final hours changed the world forever.”

The teaser was revealed by series creator Dallas Jenkins during a livestream on Sunday, July 26, offering the first glimpse of the penultimate season before it arrives in November.

Before the new season kicks off, Prime Video is putting the cast of The Chosen to the test. Aug. 9 marks the premiere of The Chosen in the Wild with Bear Grylls, following the cast and creator as Bear Grylls, 52, leads them on expeditions in the wild.

The cast will travel on rugged terrain in the U.S. for the new project, as they trek through Utah’s Castle Valley and Canyonlands, the Ausable River, the Colorado River, the Great Basin Desert and the Adirondacks.

5&2 Studios and Capitol Christian Music Group are also sharing a new album inspired by the series. Country star Tyler Hubbard’s “All I Need is You” arrives Aug. 7.

Speaking with PEOPLE in March 2025, Roumie said that “classifying” the drama as a religious show is a “disservice to what we’re doing as storytellers, as filmmakers and even as believers” of the show.

“When you say religious, a gate goes down in people’s minds that have sensitivities to that word — for whatever reason, whatever experience they’ve had — and all of a sudden they will not watch it,” he said. “So I think it shouldn’t be called that. … I think it can be a religious experience for certain people that watch the show, but I wouldn’t call it a religious show by any stretch.”

The Chosen season 6 premieres with three episodes on Nov. 15 on Prime Video, with new episodes arriving weekly through Dec. 6. The season finale hits theaters as a feature film on March 12, 2027. The first five seasons are now streaming on Prime Video.
