Single’s Inferno 5 Special Episode: I Geon and Go Eun Reconcile, Showing Many Signs of a Future Relationship
I Geon and Go Eun were the most regrettable couple to miss out on each other before the Single’s Inferno 5 Finale. In the special episode, the couple resolved their misunderstandings, had a touching private date, and showed many signs of a future together.
Netflix produced its first extended version of Single’s Inferno Season 5. In the six reunion episodes, the cast had the opportunity to preview the broadcast and share behind-the-scenes stories with viewers. Among them, the current state of I Geon and Go Eun’s relationship was revealed, sparking much discussion.
In the final episode, Go Eun chose to pair up with Sung Min. This male star accompanied her to Paradise Island first, described as providing a sense of security and unwavering devotion throughout the journey.

Jo I Geon, the male contestant who arrived three days later, quickly fell for the female model. However, at their second date on Paradise Island, the actor teased her excessively, mentioning the female model with a strange attitude. Go Eun stated that this led her to misunderstand that he wasn’t serious and was still interested in other female stars.
The two “missed” each other on D-DAY, despite having two previous dates on Paradise Island that showcased explosive chemistry.

At the premiere preview, the two contestants met again for the first time in six months. Through a third-person perspective, both I Geon and Go Eun realized many things they had missed about each other.

Go Eun admitted that she wasn’t proactive or clear enough at the time, but was “somewhat selfish” in wanting the other person to express their feelings definitively.
As for I Geon, the star of The Trunk didn’t expect that he had “unintentionally” teased her in such an “insensitive” way. The ending disappointed him, and he even doubted whether those feelings were just his own illusion.
“After all, contacting her and inviting her for coffee or a meal is something I would never do,” I Geon said in a private interview.

At the end of their private conversation, I Geon invited Go Eun “for a drink.” During the extended dinner, both “opened up” about the agonizing period after the show. Both sides refrained from contacting each other for six months afterward due to conflicting thoughts surrounding Go Eun’s final decision.
I Geon revealed that despite ignoring Go Eun’s messages, he repeatedly stalked her social media accounts. He even didn’t want to attend the preview because of his complex, somewhat negative feelings. After resolving their misunderstanding, they continued to discuss their views on love. In the final minutes of the special episode, I Geon expressed his desire to meet Go Eun again. The beauty queen’s positive response is seen as opening up opportunities for a more serious relationship in real life for the couple who had previously “missed each other.”

Currently, both have followed each other’s social media accounts. In the show’s closing post, I Geon drew attention by posting a picture of himself and Go Eun looking close, along with a public apology for his “outspoken remarks.” The older sister of the beauty from Single’s Inferno 5 was spotted interacting with the post but later “removed the heart” after netizens noticed.
Furthermore, Sung Min and Go Eun’s confirmation that they are “just friends” after the show gave fans of Go Eun and I Geon renewed hope of a real-life romance.
