Ajiado Studio, where Tsutomu Shibayama served as CEO, announced the obituary through their official social media on March 17.

Ajiado stated, “Former CEO Tsutomu Shibayama passed away on March 6, 2026, from lung cancer.” He was 84 years old.

Ajiado added, “Shibayama supported works as the director of the TV animation and theatrical Doraemon for over 20 years and also served as the general director of the TV animation Nintama Rantarō. We sincerely thank him for his profound contributions during his lifetime, and we announce this with great respect.

Born on March 9, 1941, Shibayama was active as an animation director, animation director, and animator, participating in various series.
