Taemin, born in 1993, is one of the best dancers in Kpop. Debuting at the age of 14, Taemin was once a famous youngest member in the idol world, but his skills have never been underestimated. With excellent singing, top-notch dance skills, and exceptional performance, Taemin remains a role model for the younger generation of idols.

After a period of time, Taemin was no longer seen much on social media. Recently, a short interview video for Amazon Music unexpectedly went viral online due to his unfamiliar and unrecognizable appearance. Taemin is believed to have undergone multiple plastic surgeries to maintain his youthful look, unintentionally making his face appear stiff.
The video made Taemin the center of debate.
Images extracted from the clip attracted tens of millions of views on the X platform, along with a series of surprised and regretful comments for a once-beautiful “flower boy.” Many netizens even compared him to Oli London, a former internet sensation or internet disaster.

Taemin’s fluctuating appearance has attracted a large amount of interaction.
Oli London (real name Oliver Frost) is a British influencer who gained global attention for his infamous plastic surgery journey. He spent a large sum of money on plastic surgery hoping to look like Jimin (BTS), even at one point declaring he was “100% like Jimin” and living a Kpop lifestyle. Being compared to Oli London has made some Kpop fans feel sorry for Taemin, hoping the singer will regain his former glory soon.

For those who don’t know, Oli London also ventured into music with some Kpop/EDM-influenced products, but they weren’t highly regarded for their quality, mainly gaining attention through controversy. He faced criticism many times for allegedly appropriating Korean culture and making shocking statements, including claiming to be Korean before retracting the statement. After a series of controversies, Oli London gradually changed his image, reducing his pursuit of Kpop and shifting towards sharing his personal opinions on social media.
In 2024, Taemin officially left SM Entertainment after 16 years, opening a new chapter in his career when he joined BPM Entertainment, a subsidiary of One Hundred Group, run by MC Mong and chairman Cha Ga Won. However, this new “destination” quickly became a turbulent period for the male idol.

From the end of 2025, the One Hundred Group became embroiled in a series of serious scandals when Korean media exposed financial problems such as heavy losses, debts to partners, and personal scandals involving its leaders. As a result, the entire ecosystem of subsidiary companies, including BPM Entertainment, fell into crisis. According to The Fact, Taemin was owed 1 billion won (approximately 18.2 billion VND) in unpaid fees by the company, leading to the suspension of his promotional activities.
On February 24th, Taemin officially terminated his contract with BPM Entertainment after nearly two years. Despite still having a contract, the male singer reportedly proactively requested to leave and eventually reached a parting agreement with the company. Neither party disclosed the specific reason, but many sources suggest that besides financial issues, the trust between the artist and the company had been severely broken. Notably, Chairman Cha Ga Won is alleged to have independently signed external business agreements without Taemin’s approval.

One detail that particularly caught public attention was Taemin’s alleged personal payment of salaries for employees owed by the company. This action not only helps retain the team but also demonstrates the artist’s responsibility and loyalty to those who have worked alongside him. Recently, Taemin joined Galaxy Corporation, becoming part of the same family as G-DRAGON, Song Kang Ho, and Kim Jong Kook.
