Spoiler Alert: This list contains spoilers for the ‘Emily in Paris’ Season 5 finale.Emily in Paris is already in its fifth season, shaking things up with Emily (Lily Collins) starting off her journey this time in Rome, ending in Venice, and potentially taking a trip to Greece. At this point, the show should be called “Emily in Europe.” But it’s nice to see a change of scenery to accompany the fabulous outfits.

The show that many call Sex and the City for a new generation saw Emily find herself yet again in another love triangle (sort of), but not in the way anyone expected. She found love, lost love, remembered she missed home in America, got a reality check about her propensity to run, made career blunders and successes, and came full circle back to where she started. With the season done, there are still questions fans hope a potential Season 6 might answer.

1. Will Sylvie Officially Get a Divorce?

Sylvie’s (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) relationship with Laurent (Arnaud Binard) is one of the most complicated on Emily in Paris, one of the best shows coming to Netflix in December. Married for decades, they wanted different things in life and careers and split, but never really split. While they see other people, when they come back together, the spark is still there. They dream about being together but something or someone always gets in the way. No matter what happens, however, Laurent is the one Sylvie always goes back to, and he to her. That might finally be over.

After learning that Laurent was in serious debt, took out a massive loan, and left her mom, who invested in his business, holding the bag, Sylvie was livid. She became even angrier when she spoke to a lawyer who explained that she was liable for his debts because they were still technically married. Almost losing Agence Grateau because of his mistakes (a Princess in Shining Gold swept in to save the day), Sylvie finally asked for a divorce. The question is, will she follow through, or will Laurent manage to dig himself out of his hole and win her back?

2. How Will Princess Jane’s Role Impact Agence Grateau?

Princess Jane (Minnie Driver) is Sylvie’s old friend who married into royalty and has been living a lavish lifestyle in Italy. Or so everyone thinks. She reveals to Sylvie that she’s flat broke, renting out her palace to make ends up, and getting sponsorship deals for just about anything. Everything she does is a hilariously overt commercial for something, putting subtle product placements to shame.

When her husband unexpectedly dies, however, and Princess gets an offer she can’t refuse from The Four Seasons for her palatial abode, she goes with it. She also signs up to be a partner in Agence Grateau, saving Sylvie from having to shut down the company. The question is how the princess will fit in. She has an abrasive style, no marketing experience, and it’s her social media posts that got Emily in trouble with the Muratori family. She will likely fill the hole of shaking up the office that Geneviève (Thalia Besson) was supposed to, and Driver will undoubtedly bring something special to the role.

3. Will Agence Grateau Continue To Work With Marcello?

With Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) taking over his family business on this bingeable comfort show, and still being on good terms with Emily even if they are no longer together, will Agence Grateau become his agency of record? He admitted that his mother Antonia (Anna Galiena) should never have fired Emily, and she admitted she overreacted. If they loved the work Emily did, it would make sense that they’d want to hire the agency to continue.

With that said, given how things ended between Marcello and Emily, Muratori might stick to a local Italian marketing firm to avoid any awkwardness. Or Emily could work with them through Nicolas (Paul Forman) since he’s based in Paris. It will be interesting to see how that plays out, and if Muratori remains a client, if Marcello appears again, and if another love triangle might be brewing for Emily.

4. Will Emily Meet Gabriel in Greece?

Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) is living his dream life on a yacht working as a private chef for a wealthy businessman. As if things couldn’t get any better, he is told that they are docking in Greece, so Gabriel has a few weeks off. Just then, Sylvie, who clearly believes that Gabriel is the one for Emily, sends him a message to let him know that Emily and Marcello broke up, advising that he can do with that information as he likes.

Gabriel sends that postcard he promised he would send to Emily and signs it asking her to meet him there in Greece. It’s a nice way to end the series if the show is not renewed, leaving fans to guess if Emily decides to go or not. If she does, it’s pretty much confirming she wants to be with him. It’s evident he still wants to be with her. Ideally, however, Emily won’t go because fans would love to see her single, at least for a little while.

5Is Mindy Going To Get Married?

It was a surprise to both Mindy (Ashley Park) and Emily when Nicolas proposed, especially since Emily found the ring in Marcello’s things and assumed it was for her. Mindy answered with an emphatic yes and the pair were already planning their pending nuptials. But oddly, Alfie (Lucian Laviscount) stepped in, telling his fling-turned-fleeting-romance partner that she was making a huge mistake. He was implying there was still something between them and that they should be together instead. Can Alfie ever be more than second fiddle, as has been the case in some of the worst episodes of Emily in Paris?

It’s possible Alfie has other motivations for his harsh words, perhaps knowing Nicolas better than Mindy and believing that he is indeed, as Alfie told her, a snake. With Mindy already having second thoughts about her feelings for Alfie, fans are curious how far she will get with the wedding planning before inevitably cancelling it and either going on her own or pursuing a real relationship with Alfie.

6. How Strongly Will Alfie Persist?

As noted, Alfie seems to have become infatuated with Mindy. It started with laughs while out with friends, grew into flirtations, dance practice, and getting intimate. It seemed like a fling, but the two know one another well already, so there was a pre-existing friendship to build on. Thus, it’s plausible to consider that there’s something meaningful there.

With Alfie failing to even wish Mindy well, it begs the question as to how far he will go to stop Mindy from marrying Nicolas. Does he really think Nicolas is that awful or just wants Mindy for himself? Might he resort to sabotage, seduction? It seems like Alfie is not willing to keep his thoughts to himself, and there is bound to be friction if the show continues.

7. What New Clients and Campaigns Will They Have?

With the connections Princess has along with Sylvie’s business savvy and reputation and Emily’s brilliant ability to come up with clever marketing plans on the fly, fans are curious to see what fashion, beauty, culinary, or other brands Agence Grateau will take on if there’s another season. It would be fun to see them take on clients outside their normal purview, allowing them to flex their marketing muscles in ways we haven’t seen yet.

While they have done some interesting campaigns, whether for dog food or fast food, seeing them head back to Italy, a market Emily found tough to crack, or other locations in Europe, would be interesting. It would be nice to see them take on an American client, too, maybe even have Emily travel back home for the first time in a long time. The possibilities are endless, and there’s sure to be some new mishaps with Princess in the mix.

8. Will Pierre Cadeault Be Back?

Pierre Cadault (Jean-Christophe Bouvet) was one of the funniest guest actors in Emily in Paris, one of the must-watch so-bad-they’re-good shows. He had a brief but fun cameo this season. Fans would love to see him come back in some capacity, calling Emily “ringarde!” yet again.

Every season seems to have a new eccentric designer introduced into the fold, often for a fleeting moment. But Pierre was one of the most memorable, making him a fan favorite. While it’s unclear how he could come back, perhaps deciding to work with Muratori in some capacity, bringing him back even for another short cameo or two would be fun.
