It was recently announced that Jennie was joining the lineup for the Melon Music Awards, the first in seven years.

Amid the announcement and as the event gets nearer, a clip has been shared from the MMAs in 2018 showing BTS returning to the seats, and as all the idols stood to bow, it showed that the members of BLACKPINK remained seated.

Some fans found it funny that the clip was being brought up 7 years after the event, with some saying it wasn’t that deep.

Yet, other netizens hit back at the members, saying how disrespectful it was not to bow, especially considering the seniority, and that all the others were doing it. Others used it as an opportunity to highlight BTS’s achievements in comparison to other groups, noting that these other groups have been criticized for similar behavior.

  • There’s nothing bad in learning!
  • That’s good… If they use chopsticks weirdly, the illusion really gets shattered.
  • Oh, good.
  • Recently, agencies are basically learning academies LOL.
  • I think they also said JYP teaches them chopsticks etiquette.

Chopstick etiquette is actually an important part of Korean dining culture, and that the agency may have been focused on small habits that reflect overall image, manners, and cultural understanding.
