Ready for more love triangles, fashion and your favorite Parisian chef? Emily in Paris season 5 is almost here.

In PEOPLE’s exclusive featurette from the set of the upcoming installment of Netflix’s hit comedy, Lily Collins and costars Ashley ParkPhilippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery and Lucien Laviscount tease what’s to come as Emily settles into her new life in Rome, running Agence Grateau’s new Italian office, and with her new boyfriend, Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini).

“This is Emily in Paris season 5,” Collins, 36, says as she kicks off the behind-the-scenes look at the season.

“Let’s go!” says Laviscount, who plays Alfie, and Park, who plays Emily’s best friend Mindy, says, “We’re back!”

As a glitzy season 5 unfolds, Collins reflects on what has made the Netflix series so beloved since its 2020 premiere. “There’s just something about Emily — her search for adventure and new experiences — that speaks to all of us,” she says.

“I think what I love the most about Emily is that she always follows her heart — whether that’s from Chicago, to Paris and now Rome.”

Along with a new country for season 5, costume designer Marylin Fitoussi says that they’re “really leaning into Italian fashion” this season. “Glamorous, black-and-white Italian movies.”

The show has a “whole new look,” says Arnold, who plays Emily’s coworker Julien. He teases season 5 if “full of surprises.”

Laviscount, 33, adds, “I look around the set and see so many familiar faces. These guys aren’t just colleagues — they’re friends.”

As Gouery, who plays Luc, puts it: “You never know what to expect. The wait will be worth it.”

“We’ll see you guys soon!” Park, 34, says as the featurette concludes, and Collins teases, “Very soon.”

Per the official synopsis, season 5 picks up “just as everything falls into place” for Emily in Italy, when all of a sudden, “a work idea backfires, and the fallout cascades into heartbreak and career setbacks.”

“Seeking stability, Emily leans into her French lifestyle, until a big secret threatens one of her closest relationships,” the synopsis continues. “Tackling conflict with honesty, Emily emerges with deeper connections, renewed clarity and a readiness to embrace new possibilities.”

While Lucas Bravo, who plays Emily’s original crush, Parisian chef Gabriel, is missing from the featurette, he returns for season 5. His return previously seemed uncertain as he admitted he “really grew apart” from Gabriel’s storyline in season 4, which made him “question if I want to be part of season 5.”

One face will be missing from season 5, though: Camille Razat. The French actress has played Camille since season 1, and in April, she revealed in an Instagram post that she had “made the decision to step away” from the series. “It has been a truly wonderful experience, one filled with growth, creativity, and unforgettable memories,” she wrote.

Other returning cast members include William Abadie, Paul Forman, Thalia Besson and Arnaud Binard, while Minnie DriverBryan Greenberg and Michèle Laroque are all new this season.

Emily in Paris season 5 premieres Thursday, Dec. 18 on Netflix.
