One Stranger Things Pair Can Break Your Will & Mike Illusion
Stranger Things star shines light on one underrated character duo and their friendship as Season 5 makes a funny editing flub.

Stranger Things fans have often ranked the many character friendships featured in the show, but one that often gets the most votes is Will Byers and Mike Wheeler’s connection. However, cast member Caleb McLaughlin, who portrays Lucas, spoke up about how his character’s friendship with Mike Wheeler often gets overlooked by fans.
In an interview in SFX Magazine’s December 2025 issue (via Slash Film), the actor stated:
I think Mike and Lucas, their relationship is underrated. Everyone talks about Lucas and Max, or even my relationship with Dustin, maybe in season 1, and my highlight is definitely Max and Lucas […] But I feel that people don’t realize that Lucas and Mike were friends first.
He went on to claim that Mike and Lucas were friends first, despite there being a general perspective that Lucas joined the group later than the others, as Mike’s neighbor.
They might be the closest friends to live near each other. Right next door to one another, and they have a lot of great moments throughout [season 5]. That’s a relationship that isn’t really spoken about, but it’s an underrated one.
Even fans reckon that they are closer than Mike and Will, given how Dustin stated once in Season 1 that Lucas and Mike are the best friends in their group (via X).
Jamie Campbell Bower Raises Fan Expectations For Season 5
In Stranger Things Season 5, Jamie Campbell Bower’s Henry Creel/Vecna is back and stronger than ever. He remains adamant on creating a perfect world and transforming Hawkins into his own sinister domain.
In an interview with Deadline, Bower teased that he wants fans to remain on the edge throughout the remainder of the season, keeping them locked in till the end.
They should feel like what they’re doing is holding onto their chairs going, ‘No, no, no,’ that’s how I want them to feel, particularly with what I’m up to. I think Volume 1 is, it’s funny, because it’s like, I want to call it a setup, but it is an explosive setup to what continues to happen in Volume 2 and subsequently [the finale].
Bower’s comment essentially raises expectations after claiming that Volume 2 will be more explosive than Volume 1. Well, we can safely say that it seems Vecna is just getting started.
Stranger Things Makes a Game of Thrones Error

Fans might say that Stranger Things is as perfect as it can get, from acting to GFX, and more. However, fans on social media recently spotted some serious editing errors in the first volume of the fifth season, echoing the Game of Thrones Starbucks coffee cup mishap.
In a video posted on TikTok, it shows Will and Robin walking through the park in the dark, making their way with the help of flashlights. When they reach the spot where Will got a vision of Vecna, marked with an X in bright orange tape, fans can spot blue tape as well. These were likely markers indicating where the actors needed to stand.
Fans promptly went on to compare it with Game of Thrones; however, several of them noted that it wasn’t as serious as the mistakes other shows have made when it comes to such blunders.

Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 2 will release on December 25, 2025, and the finale will release on December 31, 2025.
