Stranger Things has usually been highly rated and praised during its near-decade of existence, but season 5’s latest episode proves that not every series is perfect.

Netflix’s sci-fi series has faced a tough blow as “Chapter Seven: The Bridge” from season 5, volume 2, is the worst-rated episode of Stranger Things so far on IMDb with a 5.8/10. The previously worst-rated episode was from season 2, titled “The Lost Sister,” which was also the seventh episode of that season and is rated a 6/10.

Season 5 of Stranger Things, so far, has been receiving mixed reviews, with many describing the episodes as “disappointing.” Rotten Tomatoes released audience ratings for the final season of the series, and the audience is making their voices heard with only a 57% Popcornmeter rating compared with critics’ 84% Tomatometer rating. The audience, with over 5,000 reviews, stated season 5 is “artificial” and “joyless.”

Season 5 still has one more episode to premiere at the time of writing, and many are nervous to see how the long-awaited finale will wrap up arguably Stranger Things‘ most divisive season yet. Despite the obvious critiques and minor flaws, the newest season provides emotionally charged episodes with explosive reveals.

All the main characters are about to embark on their final mission to ensure the survival of Hawkins, their loved ones, and mankind, but can the series’ creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, deliver the perfect conclusion, which so many other series have failed to achieve? Another failed series finale has been said to be Game of Thrones, which was always highly rated, but the last season is one of the worst finales of a TV series in recent times.

Of course, Stranger Things could change its fate, and the entire season could be saved in the public’s opinion as long as fan-favorite characters and their stories are wrapped up satisfyingly, and questions are answered. Hopefully, the finale will provide what people have been craving from the sci-fi series as it reaches its end.
