  • Millie Bobby Brown recently revealed that she spoiled the Stranger Things series finale for herself.
  • “I snuck into the writers room and I saw this really big whiteboard with all of the endings on it,” she told Jimmy Fallon on Sunday’s episode of The Tonight Show.

It’s the question the world wants to know: How is Stranger Things going to end? Millie Bobby Brown has the answer.

The sci-fi series’ breakout star recently confessed that she engaged in a bit of espionage to spoil the ending for herself during the current run of its fifth and final season.

“The night before the last table read, we didn’t know what was going to happen. Like, nobody knew,” Brown recalled on Sunday’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. But a mischievous smirk stole across her face when she noted, “I actually did know.”

“I actually snuck — I like to blackmail the directors,” she continued. I have high school pictures of them that I will say, ‘I will release this if you don’t tell me what’s happening!’ But I snuck into the writers room, and I saw this really big whiteboard with all of the endings on it. And I was just like, ‘Ah! So much to process!'”

Brown recalled that the night before the extended cast sat down for the finale cold read, she and costar Noah Schnapp “made 30 friendship bracelets for everyone with charms that describe their personality. So when we went in, we gave them to everyone, and it was just a really wholesome day. We didn’t sit at a table. We sat on couches, and we just cried for basically two hours straight.”

Stranger Things table reads are notoriously spirited affairs. Last week, Netflix released a behind-the-scenes video showing the cast reacting to a major surprise that came on the Nov. 26 episode “Sorcerer.”

After learning of the seismic shift, Gaten Matarazza could be seen putting his hand on his head in shock, while Natalie Dyer’s eyebrows shot up and Charlie Heaton cracked a stunned smile.

No doubt even more surprises are in store for the Dec. 31 finale. After five seasons and nine years, the beloved, small-town, supernatural coming-of-age series is finally getting ready for its final bow.

Very little is known about the forthcoming finale, but last week, series creators Matt and Ross Duffer confirmed the episode will run “about two hours” long, and will get a theatrical release on over 500 screens across North America.
