“IT ALL TURNED INTO CHAOS IN JUST 5 SECONDS… AND WHAT HAPPENED INSIDE THAT SCHOOL IS STILL LEAVING PEOPLE SHAKEN” 💔 A student is now recounting the terrifying moment at a Texas high school where everything escalated in an instant, saying there was no warning before panic took over as gunfire broke out and a teacher was left in critical condition, with students running in fear and trying to process what was happening around them, while the situation unfolded too quickly for anyone to react. The student involved later died following the shooting, turning the incident into a devastating tragedy that has left the entire community in shock, with many still struggling to understand how something so sudden could change so many lives in just a matter of seconds.

The student who shot his teacher at a prestigious Texas high school Monday morning killed himself, authorities announced.

The 15-year-old boy shot a female teacher at Hill Country College Preparatory High School in in Comal County before turning the gun on himself, county sheriff Mark Reynolds said at an afternoon news conference.

Officials had initially announced that the student had died following the gunfire, but did not say how.

The teacher was rushed to the hospital after being shot by the unidentified student, but Reynolds did not reveal her condition.

Investigators are still working to determine the relationship between the young shooter and the educator, he said at the conference broadcast by KSAT.

“We’re trying to collect as much information as we can from witnesses,” Reynolds said.

One student reported hearing five shots from somewhere in the building as teachers ushered kids inside classrooms, KSAT reported.

The school was evacuated and all other staff and students are safe, the Comal County Sheriff’s Office said in a separate statement.

Hill Country College Preparatory — a public school-of-choice with fewer than 200 students in the town of Bulverde, near San Antonio — has spent the day updating parents and guardians with updates and reunification protocols on Facebook.

Students were ushered to a nearby middle school complex, and parents and guardians were required to show valid photo IDs to pick up their kids, the school said.

The school is nestled in a rural suburb with only around 6,000 residents, but it draws applicants from throughout Comal County for a STEM program that allows students to graduate with an associate’s degree.
