Pierre Gasly left ‘heartbroken’ after team humiliate him at Monaco Grand Prix
The driver was left stunned after his team humiliated him at the Monaco Grand Prix. He was left speechless by the turn of events.
Pierre Gasly was left “heartbroken” after being denied his dream of a podium place at the Monaco Grand Prix.
The Frenchman crossed the finish line in third place but was later demoted to seventh after being given a ten-second penalty.
Unfortunately for Gasly he was not aware of the sanction so celebrated what he thought was a place on the podium.
He fistpumped wildly in a victory-style lap, with his team failing to inform him of the penalty over his radio.

That left Gasly red-faced and speechless as he spoke to the media after the race.
“Honestly, I’m just heartbroken,” Gasly told Sky Sports.
“I don’t have the words, I have too much emotions to process and I just can’t get my head around what happened and it just doesn’t sound fair.”
Fans were appalled at Alpine for failing to inform Gasly of the penalty, with many sharing their sympathies.
“They’re a bunch of cowards for not communicating things as they are.
“They can’t let him believe he’s on the podium when he’s carrying a 10-second penalty, hearing him and seeing him celebrate and not a single hair moves for them to tell him the truth. S****y team and people.”
“This is so cruel,” added another.
A third wrote: “What is Alpine doing for not telling Gasly he have a 10s penalty. This is evil.”
Another commented: “Noooooooo why didn’t they tell him? This is cruel. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy.”
Gasly later took to social media to express his feelings after being denied what would have been his sixth podium finish in F1.

“We crossed the finish line in 3rd today, and that’s all I want to remember.
“I’ve dreamed about that podium thousands times, we all working very hard for years to achieve moments like today and it doesn’t feel right for it to be taken away like this.
“I really hope the right outcome can be made. We will fight for it with my team.”
