Lindsey Vonn Receives Emotional Message From Alex Eala After Injury

Team USA star skier Lindsey Vonn attempted to do the impossible during the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.
After suffering a torn ACL just ahead of the Olympic Games, Vonn attempted to ski on her injury. Unfortunately, the situation ended in tragedy as Vonn crashed and suffered a brutal leg injury. Vonn suffered a severe complex tibia fracture, which is in effect a broken shin bone, in her left leg during the crash. The injury has been described as being worse than a broken leg and has required multiple surgeries with more to come.
At 41 years old, there are major questions about her future in competitive skiing. Perhaps Vonn will do what she has always done and make a startling comeback to ski in the 2030 Winter Olympics, but her career is very much in jeopardy following the injury. With that being said, an outpouring of love and prayers has been sent to Vonn as she enters a long road of recovery.

Alex Eala Sends Emotional Message to Lindsey Vonn After Olympics Injury
To make matters worse for Vonn, her beloved dog, Leo, passed away shortly after her injury. Vonn took to social media to share a touching tribute to her four-legged companion.
“As I layed in my hospital bed the day after my crash, we said goodbye to my big boy. I had lost so much that meant something to me in such a short amount of time. I can’t believe it. My boy has been with me since my second ACL injury, when I needed him most,” Vonn wrote.
“There will never be another Leo. He will always be my first love. Heading in for more surgery today. Will be thinking of him when I close my eyes. I will love you forever my big boy 🤍,” she added.
Alex Eala, the rising Filipino tennis star and fellow athlete who often cites veteran champions as her inspiration, sent a message of support in response to Vonn losing her dog.

“I‘m so sorry for your loss ❤️,” Eala commented on the post.
There have been few athletes who have been through more setbacks and pain than Vonn. She has always found a way to come back stronger. Fans and younger peers like Eala should expect to see the same resilience in this situation, although her skiing future is unknown at this point in time.
