Britney Spears barks, yells and wields knife at LA restaurant in bizarre scene after rehab: report
Britney Spears allegedly caused a “chaotic” and “kind of sad” scene while dining at a Los Angeles restaurant with two friends Wednesday night.
Sources told TMZ that the pop star “was raising her voice, screaming and even barking at times” during the incident at Blue Dog Tavern in Sherman Oaks.
A restaurant patron claimed Spears, 44, walked by their table holding a knife at one point, and sparked fear that she might accidentally stab someone.
The “Toxic” singer, who was at the restaurant with a man and a woman, also reportedly lit a cigarette near the door, which forced staff to ask her male friend to have her put it out.
While at the table, Spears was allegedly feeding her male pal and at one point told him, “I love you.” The outlet noted, however, that it’s unclear whether Spears meant it or was just being playful.
By the end of the night, Spears’ table looked “like a toddler had been there,” one eyewitness claimed.
Per TMZ, Spears was taken home by her security team following the bizarre incident.
“This is completely blown out of proportion. Britney was enjoying a quiet dinner with her assistant and bodyguard. She was simply telling the story about how her dog was barking at the neighbors,” her rep told Page Six Thursday.
The rep also insisted that Spears never “put anyone in danger with a knife” and that she was using it to cut her hamburger.
As previously reported, Spears checked herself into a rehab facility on April 12 following her March DUI arrest. She was seen for the first time after rehab on April 30.
A source close to Spears told Page Six at the time that she was “doing really well” and “excited to start afresh” following her rehab stint. “Rehab was a great opportunity for her to ground herself,” the insider added.
A second source told us that the mom of two is “continuing counseling remotely.”
The Princess of Pop pleaded guilty to a charge from her DUI arrest on May 4.
Her lawyer accepted an offer for her charge to be reduced to “wet reckless,” which is common in cases for first-time offenders with a low blood alcohol count and no prior crashes.
The judge ordered Spears to a one-year informal probationary grant and to complete a three-month alcohol school. She did not attend the May 4 court hearing.
Since her arrest, Spears has spent more time with the two sons she has with ex Kevin Federline — Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19. Her boys reportedly helped convince her to go to rehab.
