‘Wednesday’ Stars Emma Myers and Evie Templeton Reveal How Their Dance Duet Came Together. The filming day was so rushed that they only practiced for 2 hours before the scene started. It was really difficult to participate in this scene. But an unexpected incident happened during the two’s practice. Emma revealed that Evie had a leg injury but still tried to finish the scene within the next 4 hours, making the whole crew fall in love with the efforts of a 16-year-old girl. Evie shared about that accident for the first time, making many fans cry and love her even more.

‘Wednesday’ Stars Emma Myers and Evie Templeton Reveal How Their Dance Duet Came Together (Exclusive)

While Wednesday gained instant popularity when it dropped on Netflix in 2022, one moment in particular seemed to be the most universally talked-about. The dance done by the titular teen, played by Jenna Ortega, instantly spawned a TikTok trend, taking over the internet.

So, when the hit supernatural series finally returned for its highly anticipated second season in 2025, it became a matter of not if a dance sequence would return, but when. But, in a twist true to the mystery-laden show, this dance did not come from Wednesday herself. Instead, Season 2 saw not one, but two dancers, a duet done by frenemies Enid (Emma Myers) and Agnes (Evie Templeton) to distract the crowd during Nevermore’s fundraising gala.

The scene was made even more special by the fact that the choreography was done to “The Dead Dance,” a new song that Lady Gaga released specifically with Season 2 (along with a cameo proper in the prior episode). But, as the actresses clarify in an exclusive interview with Parade, despite what might be assumed, their pas de deux was not meant solely to take over social media again.

“I don’t think our reasoning for the dance was to create another viral moment,” Myers clarifies in an exclusive interview with Parade. “I think we just really wanted to include it. I mean, Evie and I both come from dance backgrounds, and I think it’s a really good use of our previous skills to add to the show. I mean, we were going to have a gala, so I think everybody was just like, ‘Why not do a dance as well?’

“We weren’t doing it for the sake of, ‘Let’s hope we get another TikTok trend,” she continues. “Because I think that would cheapen the hard work and the effort and the creativity that was put into this.”

Indeed, crafting the dance with the werewolf and the invisible woman involved a heavy amount of preparation on everyone’s end. Templeton says they rehearsed for about two weeks, and worked with choreographer Corey Banks and some dancers to put everything together.

“We really wanted to incorporate the outcast abilities into it,” she says. “So we had Emma in her ears, and there would be moments where I turned invisible. So it was just fun getting to play around with that, and then getting to let loose on set when we got to perform it.”

As mentioned before, both actresses grew up with dance experience. And Myers relished in the opportunity to get to stretch those muscles (literally) in years, especially to a new song from the Oscar and Grammy-winning Gaga.

“I missed dancing so much,” the A Minecraft Movie actress says. “I’ve done it since I was little. And getting to use it and mix it with something else that I love, acting is so, so wonderful. And to get to do it with Evie, especially, it was so so lovely. I think we both just wanted to give it our all, and had so much fun doing it. It was definitely my favorite part of filming last season.”

The first two seasons of Wednesday are currently streaming on Netflix.
