While most NBA stars enjoy the holidays with lavish trips, LeBron James chose a special way to mark his family bond. He, Savannah, and his sons Bronny and Bryce walked into a tattoo parlor and got an identical symbol inked together. Witnesses recounted the moment the three of them held hands as the needle passed by, while Savannah was in tears. It wasn’t a whim, LeBron revealed that this was something he had been thinking about for months. But what does the tattoo really mean, and why did it make the whole family so emotional?

LeBron James and his family are matching their body art.

The NBA star, 40, was spotted in an Instagram post shared on Thursday, Aug. 21, getting tattoos with wife Savannah James, and their sons LeBron “Bronny” James Jr., 20, and Bryce Maximus, 18, in a special bonding moment.

Celebrity tattoo artist Joaquin Ganga of Ganga Tattoo Studio in L.A., posted a series of photos on his Instagram Stories showing each of them having their arm inked with a “family tattoo,” which has yet to be revealed publicly.

LeBron and Savannah’s youngest child, daughter Zhuri Nova, 10, wasn’t pictured with them during the tattoo studio visit.

LeBron’s ink with his family comes after he debuted a tattoo commemorating his time at the 2024 Paris Olympics in September 2024.

Ganga shared an Instagram Reel at the time, showing Lebron sitting in a chair as the work of art was inked on his inner forearm.

“Tattooing the Olympic rings for the king @kingjames Thank you for all bro,” Ganga wrote in the caption of the post.

The special ink marked LeBron’s fourth time at the games. The basketball star was a flag bearer for the opening ceremony of the Olympics on Jul. 26 and captained Team USA Basketball during the tournament as the team secured its 17th gold win.

LeBron has several other tattoos in honor of his loved ones.

Among his extensive ink collection, the father of three has a ‘Prince’ tattoo dedicated to his oldest son, Bronny, the name of his son Bryce and an image of his daughter Zhuri.

He also has a black mamba snake tattoo in tribute to the late Kobe Bryant, who died in 2020, per Sportskeeda.
