Emma recently opened up about her dance background, revealing that dancing has always been a part of her life since she was just two years old. “I’ve been dancing since I was two. I used to be a competitive dancer,” she said. “Dance comes naturally to me, and I think it helped a lot with the intense short timeline we had for rehearsals. We only had two weeks before we started shooting, so knowing how to dance beforehand was definitely a game-changer.”

While Emma’s natural talent played a huge role, the choreography for “The Dead Dance” was no walk in the park. It involved intricate moves, intense lifts, and precise timing, all while working in sync with co-star Evie Templeton. “Oh, it was terrifying,” admitted Evie, who had to lift Emma during the routine. “All that was going through my head is, ‘Do not drop Em, please do not drop Emma.'” Emma humorously added, “I was just like, ‘Don’t crush Evie, don’t crush Evie.’” The trust and chemistry between the two actors really brought the scene to life.

Despite the pressure, Emma was able to pull it off because of her extensive dance experience and her commitment to perfecting the routine quickly. But Emma made it clear that she never intended for dance to be her career. “I love it as an art form,” she shared. “I never wanted to force myself to do it as a career or anything. If I wanted to continue it, I would, but I’m not going to force myself to do something creative if it doesn’t feel right.”

So, how did she manage to pick up such an intense dance routine so quickly? “We worked closely with Corey [Baker], our choreographer,” Emma explained. “We played around with different ideas, and I was able to pull from the dance foundations I had from when I was younger. It all came together in those three days of rehearsal.”
