Kate Middleton took her kids on a special visit to the set of the upcoming Harry Potter television series over the weekend, recalling another magical moment.
While Prince William, 43, visited his father, King Charles, in Scotland, Kate and Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, enjoyed a private visit to the highly secretive set on Friday, Sept. 26, according to the Daily Mail.
“It was so special,” a source who was on set during the royal visit told the outlet. “Kate and the children met the young actors and the director on the set. There was only one night of filming there, so it really was a magical ticket.”
More than a decade ago, Kate, William and Prince Harry had their own Harry Potter moment. The trio attended the official royal opening of the Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden on April 26, 2013, where they toured the “Making of Harry Potter” exhibit.

Kate, William and Harry waved wands and toured the exhibit featuring costumes, props and sets from the original eight-film series starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, which was released between 2001 and 2011. All eight films were shot at Leavesden, a converted World War II-era aerodrome, which is now the production home base for the upcoming series.

“Harry’s just excited to see a real-life talking owl,” William said during the appearance, according to the BBC. “I haven’t told him yet that Harry Potter is actually fictional, so please don’t let the secret out just yet.”
The visit was extra special for the future Princess of Wales, as she was pregnant with Prince George at the time. Taking her kids to the set of the new adaptation was a full-circle moment for the royal mother of three.

The Harry Potter TV series is currently in production for HBO. It’s planned to run for seven seasons, with each representing one book of the J.K. Rowling series, starting with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and ending with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
In addition to touring the set, Princess Kate and the young royals met the newcomers cast to play the show’s “Golden Trio”: Dominic McLaughlin, who will play Harry Potter; Alastair Stout, who has been cast as Ron Weasley; and Arabella Stanton, who will portray Hermione Granger.
The series will also star John Lithgow (Albus Dumbledore), Janet McTeer (Minerva McGonagall), Paapa Essiedu (Severus Snape), Nick Frost (Rubeus Hagrid) and Lox Pratt (Draco Malfoy), among others.
“We are delighted to give audiences the opportunity to discover Hogwarts in a whole new way,” HBO and Max chairman and CEO Casey Bloys previously said in a press release about bringing Harry Potter back to life on TV.
The Harry Potter television series is anticipated to premiere on HBO in early 2027.
