Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton and actress Sofía Vergara, who is more than a decade older than him, had a “lunch date” in New York on January 14.

People magazine published a photo of the smiling pair after a meal that lasted for hours, sparking dating rumors. Sofía Vergara wore wide-leg jeans with a black top and a cream-colored jacket over it. Lewis Hamilton also sported oversized jeans, but in a lighter shade, with a brown-toned shirt and jacket, and a matching bucket hat.

Representatives for the Golden Globe-nominated actress and the Formula 1 driver declined to comment on the rumors. However, TMZ and Us Weekly reported that it was not a romantic date, but simply a casual lunch between friends.

Last week, the beauty born in 1972 revealed her wishes for the new year. “Health, money, and a boyfriend,” Sofía Vergara told Access Hollywood at the Golden Globe Awards on January 5. “Or maybe a lover,” she cheekily added.

The Colombian-born star recently ended her relationship with orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman. Sofía Vergara first went public with Saliman in April 2024 via Instagram Story. The last time she posted about him was in July 2024, when they were enjoying a romantic vacation in Italy.

Before dating Saliman, Sofía Vergara broke up with Joe Manganiello in July 2023 after seven years of marriage. The couple finalized their divorce in April 2024.

Lewis Hamilton has also had a colorful dating history. He is best known for a seven-year relationship with singer Nicole Scherzinger, who is seven years older than him. After breaking up with the former Pussycat Dolls member in 2015, the British racer has been rumored to date a string of models including Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Barbara Palvin, Winnie Harlow, as well as singers Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Camila Kendra, Shakira, Rita Ora, and Sofia Richie.
