Did you catch it?! Jenny Han just dropped the ultimate wink to fans in The Summer I Turned Pretty finale’s end credits… and it looks like a MOVIE could be on the horizon! After seasons of sun-soaked drama at Cousins Beach, fiery love triangles, heartbreak, and those unforgettable first loves, we thought we were saying goodbye. But Jenny Han clearly isn’t finished with us yet—and honestly, we’re not ready to let go either. Imagine Belly’s story playing out on the big screen: The Fisher brothers finally facing the truth. Belly’s heart choosing once and for all. A farewell to Cousins Beach that feels bigger, deeper, and even more emotional than ever before. Jenny Han knows how to keep us on the edge of our seats, and this end-credits tease has fans buzzing with hope (and theories). Is this the grand finale we’ve been waiting for? Or just the beginning of something even bigger?

As I write this in the ELLE offices, I’m trying very hard to compose myself after watching the Summer I Turned Pretty series finale at my desk. Not only because of the sweet conclusion of Belly Conklin’s story, but also because… I’m not quite sure what to do with myself now that there are no new episodes of this lovably chaotic show to fixate over.

Luckily for me and many other fans, TSITP is not done yet. Though we won’t be getting a secret bonus episode, we will be getting a full-length movie to continue—and finally conclude—Belly’s story. Jenny Han is writing and directing the film, too. But before the official news broke, Han subtly hinted at the idea of revisiting the TSITP universe during the end credits of the series finale, which premiered today.

First, the credits are played over a slideshow of images of Belly and Conrad celebrating Christmas in Paris, which was not previously seen on the show. They’re all cute and cuddly, opening presents as snow falls outside. Belly even wears a red printed PJ set like she did that one Christmas she and Conrad spent together in the beach house.

The author, showrunner, screenwriter, and producer recently told the Los Angeles Times that she’s “definitely open to doing more stories in the [TSITP] universe, it’s just that I want to figure out what the story is that I feel so compelled to tell it that I’m willing to spend the next few years throwing my whole body into it.”

It might be a while before the TSITP film hits Prime Video, so for now, maybe it’s time to start rewatching the series—or rereading the books.
