You’d think making infinite seasons of the Netflix smash hit Wednesday would be enough to keep Alfred Gough and Miles Millar busy—but no. No, somehow these two have time to make more Addams Family productions. They recently told that they’re working on an entirely separate, animated Addams Family film with Amazon MGM Studios.

Gough said:
“We’re working on it with Amazon MGM and with Kevin Miserocchi who runs the Addams Foundation, he knew Charles Addams and the keeper of the Addams flame, and with Gail Berman and John Glickman. We’re rebooting the animated film franchise. So it won’t have anything to do with the two films before it, nor is it connected with this show. It will be a brand new Addams feature. There’s not really much we can say about it, because it’s in the very early stages.”
It’s fun to imagine what Morticia Addams would say about the word “franchise,” isn’t it? I think it is.

Clearly, there’s an audience for Gough and Millar’s “The-CW-After-Dark” style of Addamsing, so it’s hardly a surprise that they’re going to keep working a formula that, well, works. But one certainly hopes they remember, for the next project, why so many of us : as Emmet Asher-Perrin so perfectly put it, “The Addams Family films were about family being a haven of pure acceptance and unquestioning love.”
Let the weirdos love each other and rejoice!
