
“We’re working on it with Amazon MGM and with Kevin Miserocchi who runs the Addams Foundation, he knew Charles Addams and the keeper of the Addams flame, and with Gail Berman and John Glickman. We’re rebooting the animated film franchise. So it won’t have anything to do with the two films before it, nor is it connected with this show. It will be a brand-new Addams feature. There’s not really much we can say about it, because it’s in the very early stages.”
Cartoonist Charles Addams created The Addams Family, and it was originally a series of single-panel comics. While the family has mostly been portrayed in live-action, they did have a handful of animated adaptations, with the most recent being 2019’s The Addams Family and 2021’s The Addams Family 2. The recent adaptations of the films received mixed results as both features received poor scores from critics, but gained high praise from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.

The first half of Wednesday Season 2 premiered last week, picking up with Wednesday’s second year at Nevermore Academy. She’s now dealing with unwanted attention after the events of Season 1, and she’s not enjoying the popularity. This year, her younger brother Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez) joins the school as he develops electrical powers. Once again, Wednesday is pulled into a mystery when her visions show that her roommate, Enid (Emma Myers), will die because of her, prompting her to try to change her friend’s fate.
